A New Year Awaits

January 7th, 2010

Can you believe it’s a new year? So many opportunities await each of us. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has plans for good and not for evil. He has a plan to give us hope and a future. Hope is the word that sticks out at me in that verse. Hope is the knowledge that something good is coming. That no matter what we face right now there is One that has a master plan that provides for our future. That One is God and His future for all our lives hinges on our belief in Him. Trusting Him as Savior brings us hope of eternal life with Him. Not just when we die and got to Heaven but right now! Our eternal life with Him begins the moment we accept Him. Knowing that God walks each step with me gives me hope for today and tomorrow. No matter what!

So look forward to this new year and all God will bring your way. Hope springs eternal.   Kandi

We’re Changing The World One Child At A Time

Hey, It’s VBS Time!

June 2nd, 2009

Once upon a time there was a little girl who got up very early during the summer to ride a school bus. This was no ordinary school bus, but a big white church bus on it’s way to pick up kids for VBS. You see this little girl was the preacher’s daughter and she loved to ride the bus with her Dad to pick up the kids and take them to VBS. She learned at a very early age that kids needed to know that Jesus loved them and wanted to be their forever friend. Her Dad told her that the fun and excitement of VBS would draw the kids in so they could learn about Jesus.
And you know what it did!

I was that little girl riding in the back of the bus on the dirt roads of Michigan with her Dad. We would sing and talk about the plans for the day as we packed the seats with kids for VBS. My Dad was the best storyteller ever and he would make the Bible come alive for us kids each summer. VBS has changed since I was a little girl but I love it just the same. The smell of kool aid in the hot sunshine, the feel of glue on your fingers, the thrill of seeing Bible stories come to life never grows old for me.

VBS has the power to sink deep into a child’s heart and life. As your kids play a game they learn that God cares for everyone the same. As they sing the daily theme song they learn that God is always with them. As they hear how God miraculously saved the slaves of Egypt they learn that His power is there for them too. I urge you to sign your kids up for our VBS. Not only is it a ton of fun and a free morning for you but it’s a life changing experience that will stick with your kids for a long time. I should know. I’ve been impacted by VBS since I was 5 years old.
